The Amazing Art of Beatles Rock Band

|
The Beatles

This game holds absolutely no interest to me and I can never see myself buying a Rock Band game and playing with those silly plastic instrument. I tried it once in a store and felt like I went full retard. There was absolutely no connection between me and gameplay. I'm not saying that these games are absolutely horrible, I can somewhat understand the appeal of music games for the average Joe. My main problem with the current music games is the huge amount of rehash that is happening in the genre and I can see it very well ending up in the horrid state that milkage left the Tony Hawk games for example.

So when I heard about a Beatles Rock Band I felt like a part of me had died - for future reference here is me dying inside - considering I've been a fan of The Beatles for a long time and didn't want to see their brand and great music soiled by a game series and genre on the decline when it comes to creativity and quality. Not many things are sacred to me but Beatles happens to be one of those few things, I simply did not want to see lifeless doll-like Beatles made "hip" for the average Joe of gaming and in the process losing all the soul that the band possessed.

The Beatles

However since E3 2009 I will give the game one thing and that is the art-style and design of the game which happens to be god damn freaking genius AMAZING gorgeous. I don't know who made the amazing animated intro and art of the game but when I saw the opening for the first time all I could say was "These people get it!" and they really do because I don't know how they managed to tell the career-spanning, larger-than life story of The Beatles - all stunningly animated - in less then three minutes and leave you with a feeling of "It all makes perfect sense!". I'm simply speechless.

Now I can only hope that someone with brains and money goes to the people that made this stunning piece of animated art and hires them to make a full length feature animated film about the Beatles in the same style as this opening sequence in the game. The Beatles are larger than life for a reason and I don't really want to see a live action film about them but an animation of this quality can really do justice to their music and soul as has been proven with a mere two and a half minute opening scene found in a video game here below.

yep, fucking sexy style. and I agree about the GH/rock band full retard consumption. I'd rather get a ukelele and a tapeworm than buy that shit. and raping both Beatles and Curt is just messed up. thank good they did smexy graphics for the Beatles. oh and I don't think I've ever seen the (remaining) Beatles so awkward as they where on E3 xD

I personally just don't get the appeal of playing on plastic fake instruments when instead you can play an actual instrument and probably cheaper.

Well the Beatles Rock Band seems to have pretty crappy graphics as well, it's only the menus and the opening that is clearly made by some people with actual talent.

Yeah, they were almost as awkward as Ubisoft's whole conference. =D
